Zircon

Zircon is a mineral, gemstone, and source of zirconium that is the birthstone for December, along with turquoise and tanzanite.
Zircon is a colorful coming in a variety of colors, including blue, red, yellow, orange, brown, green, and yellowish brown. Colorless zircon is known as Matura Diamond and is known for its brilliance and flashes of multicolored light.
Zircon is the oldest mineral on Earth and can contain a record of some of the earliest history of earth due to being very durable and resistant to chemical attack, so they can survive many geologic events.
Zircon is more brittle than diamond, because of its high refractive index (1.92) it has sometimes been used as a substitute for diamond, though it does not display quite the same play of color as a diamond.
