Turquoise

Turquoise is a rare, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum.
Turquoise is found in only a few places on Earth where acidic groundwater reacts with minerals. The word turquoise comes from the French word turquois, which means "Turkish" because the mineral was first brought to Europe from mines in Iran and Afghanistan through Turkey.
