Saleeite is a secondary uranium mineral occurring in the oxidized zones of uranium deposits, or as disseminations in carnotite-bearing sandstones.
Saleeite can be found in the oxidized zones of U-rich metallic hydrothermal deposits as well as some U-rich sedimentary deposits. Saleeite can be found in many localities. It is strongly radioactive.
