Dendritic Chrysoprase Slab

Chrysoprase is a green variety of chalcedony (cryptocrystalline quartz). Its green color comes from nickel silicate inclusions (commonly willemseite or related Ni minerals), not from chromium or vanadium like in emerald.
“Dendritic” means it contains branching, tree- or fern-like inclusions. In dendritic chrysoprase, the inclusions are usually manganese oxides (like psilomelane or pyrolusite) or iron oxides.
Dendritic chrysoprase is less common than pure green varieties, making it a collector’s material.
It is primarily used in jewelry such as rings, pendants, bracelets, beads — though the dendrites often make each piece unique and “scenic.” It is also sought after as collector’s pieces because dendritic chrysoprase is rarer, polished slabs or cabochons with dramatic inclusions are prized.
