Brucite

Brucite is the mineral form of magnesium hydroxide. It is a common alteration product of periclase in marble; a low-temperature hydrothermal vein mineral in metamorphosed limestones and chlorite schists.

Brucite is sometimes used as a semi-precious gemstone. It can also be used in a variety of technical applications, including acid mine drainage, cement, construction, fire retardant, and more.
