Anatase

Anatase

Anatase is one of the three primary natural mineral forms of titanium dioxide, alongside rutile and brookite. It is a polymorph of titanium dioxide, meaning it shares the same chemical composition as rutile and brookite but differs in crystal structure and physical properties.

Typically found in a range of colors, including yellow, brown, blue, and black, it can also appear colorless or transparent in pure form.

It is often used as a pigment in paints, plastics, and coatings because of its high refractive index and excellent opacity. Because of it's high UV absorption properties, it is sometimes used in sunscreen and cosmetics.
